By Mathias Chang
The title now appears to be all too prophetic, with the Bush regime hastening to attack Iran – according to some observers, in order to control oil supplies and thereby prop up the increasingly unsupported US dollar. That's a key theme of the book, which shows a torn dollar on the cover.
"Future Fast Forward" offers an unusual window on current events from the perspective of a highly-placed political observer from the other side of the world. Mr. Chang is a talented and enlightened thinker with many connections. Worth reading if only to redress the export-import balance in intellectual property!
American readers may take some getting used to the forthright treatment of issues like Zionism, but this is not mean-spirited. It intends to defend human values against a drive for fascist hegemony, and the author quotes many statements from prominent Zionists to support his views.
Some material, like the fake WMD pretext to attack Iraq, will be familiar to readers of contemporary conspiracy and anti-imperialist literature, but there is a great deal you would never encounter on the Internet. For instance, Chang has some profiles of key neo-con players I haven't seen elsewhere, and his own particularly drastic view of the US-UK-Israel Axis plans for a new American century. He tells about their "new map for the 21st century," ruled by a police state after World War IV – which is already well underway!
The front cover description tries to sum it all up thus: "A riveting exposé of the crimes, conspiracies and con-artistry – with the puppets Bush and Blair at the forefront – for total world domination by means of death, devastation and destruction!"
